5 Week Course

Over five weekly sessions, you will rotate through every major department in our studio. You will learn the technical mechanics of clay, equipment safety, and studio etiquette so that upon graduation, you are fully cleared to rent studio space and work on your own projects at your own pace.

Weekly Breakdown:

  • Week 1: Hand-Building: Learn essential table skills including pinching, coiling, slab construction, and clay preparation.

  • Weeks 2 & 3: Wheel Throwing: Spend two weeks mastering the wheel—focusing on wedging, centering, opening, and pulling walls.

  • Week 4: Trimming & Decorating: Learn how to turn leather-hard pieces, trim neat foot rings, attach handles, and apply surface textures or slips.

  • Week 5: Glazing & Studio Safety: Learn our glaze chemistry basics, dipping and pouring techniques, kiln loading safety, and final cleanup protocols.
